A conversation with Mike Brightman: ConDoc Tools for SketchUp

Every now and then, we like to look at some of the more advanced techniques for SketchUp (& LayOut). Recently, we revisited the meticulously crafted techniques of Nick Sonder, so we thought it was a good time to highlight a different type of workflow.

We headed down the road to visit Mike Brightman of Brightman Designs in Denver, Colorado. Mike is the author of The SketchUp Workflow for Architecture, and the creator of an extension/workflow for SketchUp called ConDoc Tools. This set of tools helps you create construction documents by turning multi-step operations in SketchUp and LayOut into really slick drag-and-drop actions. ConDoc Tools is a framework for managing Layers, Styles, and Scenes, while helping you control lineweights and work with dynamic hatches. We sat down with Mike to learn more about how all this SketchUp magic happens; check it out below.
