Why attend 3D Basecamp 2022? We have 10 reasons
Vancouver Convention Centre
Have you heard the news? We are heading to Vancouver, B.C., for 3D Basecamp 2022! If you don’t already know, 3D Basecamp is hands down the best conference to attend if you want to learn SketchUp. SketchUppers from all over the world come together to meet, learn, inspire, and have fun. We may be biased, but we can’t think of a better way to spend a week. Here are ten reasons why we think you’ll agree.
Learn how to master new tools like the Lasso Select tool, which allows you to draw custom selection bounds without reorienting the camera.
1. Master 3D modeling skills
If you haven’t caught on already, 3D Basecamp is the place to become a SketchUp ninja. At 3D Basecamp, classes range from large to small and beginner to advanced. Get the best (hands-on) learning experience based on your needs. Do you know it all? Think again. We have recruited top trainers to be your SketchUp sherpas at 3D Basecamp.

2. A one-of-a-kind community
SketchUppers from all over the globe come to share tips, tricks, and can’t-live-without shortcuts. In the SketchUp community, everyone is welcome, and people go out of their way to teach others. This type of energy helps foster an atmosphere of inclusion, creativity, and innovation.
If you’ve watched trainers like Matt Donnely from Master SketchUp or Justin Geis from SketchUp Essentials or received an answer on the forum from one of the Sages and thought, “I’d like to hang out with them,” — this is your chance! SketchUp teachers and forum advisors alike will be hanging out just waiting to talk SketchUp with you!

3. Award-winning venue
We aren’t going to trap you in stuffy rooms with small windows. An architectural beauty, the Vancouver Convention Centre was voted the best convention center in North America. From award-winning design to sustainability, this building has it all. It’s also located right on the water for some breathtaking views. When you come for 3D Basecamp, keep your eye out for the grass on the roof and beehives!
Magician Justin Willman Teaches Jimmy a Trick to Make Soda Disappear with His Mind.
5. A magical party
Come to learn; stay to be entertained. Enjoy a 3D art walk, dinner, and a modern magic show at the A Magical Night of Illusions party.
This immersive party starts by taking you “outside” from within the convention center. Before you dine, stroll through a river filled with 3D illusions and surprises (lions and tigers and bears, oh my!) with a cocktail in hand. Sit down for a meal under stars projected onto the ceiling.
Later that evening, Justin Willman (from Netflix's Magic for Humans) will amaze, delight, and shock you with magic tricks in a way that’s sure to have your face sore from smiling. The L.A. Times exclaimed that Willman is "A new breed of magician who's making magic cool again for grown-ups," Time Out hailed that his show "Has to be seen to be disbelieved,” and USA Today describes him as “Like a magician, but cooler.” Willman is also known for his multiple appearances on The Tonight Show, Ellen, and Conan.

5. Discover workflows and people that are perfect for your projects
We don’t just teach generic SketchUp info in our sessions; we teach leading principles for industry-specific workflows. Fellow attendees are typically professional SketchUp users (SketchUppers) — from urban planners to architects and interior designers — so you can learn strategies and expand your network.
