Who are makers?

We talk about ‘making’ a lot on this blog. Over the years, we’ve made things out of plastic, wood, cardboard, PVC, and more. We think that SketchUp is particularly useful for designing things that have lots of repeatable elements (ahem components) and that need to be fabricated across multiple software and hardware platforms.

But the truth is: you don’t really need SketchUp to make something great. All you need is the curiosity, excitement, and wherewithal to start a project, screw it up a bit, and then try again. During our last visit to World Maker Faire, we spent some time talking with people who make ideas real; here’s what they had to say about what makes a “maker."
