StudioJDK: Utilizing SketchUp, Photoshop, V-Ray, and Vue to create stunning illustrations

While some folks work almost entirely in SketchUp Pro (ahem, Nick Sonder!), we’ve found it’s much more common for professional designers to use SketchUp as part of their working process. We think that’s great, and it’s one of the big reasons we invest a lot in making sure SketchUp plays well with others. It’s also why we’re always curious to see how people work between SketchUp and other applications.

For a couple of years now, we’ve been fans of Jeremy Kay and his team at StudioJDK. They create gorgeous concept illustrations that bring places to life before the first brick is laid. Recently, we sat down with Jeremy and Patrick at StudioJDK to get a better sense of exactly how these incredible compositions come together. Watch closely: Jeremy will surely blow your mind (and probably give you some ideas) as he breaks down, layer by layer, how to create an effective, emotive drawing using SketchUp, Photoshop, V-Ray and Vue. Holy flares, Batman!
